Front coil-over Instructions for 1979-2004 Mustang

Always use jack stands to support chassis

Remove spring and struts from the front of the car and set aside.

If using a stock style nonadjustable you will need to grind off the ring around the top of strut

before installing in the car.

Once the struts are prepped. Coat the strut body with poly grease and then slide the coil over sleeves onto the strut bolts to the spindle

At this point, adjust the lock and shelf nut to the bottom of the threaded collar (this will make installation easier and you can adjust height when installed) install the coil spring, which is a press fit. Then install the lower bearing retainer with poly grease in the washer/bearing/washer seat area and finally the upper retainer.

Depending on the style of caster/camber plate you are running determines the buffer style between the upper bearing retainer and the bottom of the caster/camber plate. If you are running a plate that utilizes a spherical bearing you should be supplied with a precut sleeve. If you are running a stock plate, you will need to modify your stock onion bushing in order to mate the coil over to the bottom of the plate.

Now place the strut up through the caster/camber plate and tighten the locking nut, then install the lower bolts that connect the struts to the spindle and torque accordingly

You are now ready to reassemble the front end and set ride height to your liking

Mu-8000 Caster/Camber Plate 79-04 Mustang

Position plate over the opening in strut tower and center.

Then drill four 7/16" holes.

For all Fox applications will work as is on all SN95 applications.

Position CC plates from the underside of the strut tower with com bearing pointed down and closest to the firewall.

Install and tighten all 4 nuts.

Then install strut shaft and spacers.

Repeat on other side.
